Books To Movie Club

The Book To Movie Club will be watching the movie Deliverance starring Burt Reynolds
on April 28 at 6:30 PM. No one under 18 allowed for this movie. If you haven’t read the
book, no problem, you can still see the movie, but registration is required. Join us April 28th @ 6:30 pm!
The Book To Movie Club will be reading, and then watching, 2001: A Space Odyssey
written by Arthur C. Clarke and directed by Stanley Kubrick. Unlike most, this book and
movie were developed concurrently and the movie was released before the book.
With science fiction themes such as; the perils of technology and nuclear war, evolution,
space exploration, and artificial intelligence it is the perfect movie to watch in June
during our science themed adult summer reading program. So sign-up in April, read
the book in May, and watch the movie in June.

World Book Night

Stop in the library to see the 2014 World Book Night picks. Enter a contest to see how
many of the 36 books you’ve read. World Book Night is April 23 in honor of William
Shakespeare’s birth and death day (same day). People all over the world will be giving
away free books to non-readers. Librarians and others will be handing out books in the
Spencer area – hopefully we will recruit new readers!
