5th Annual Poetry contest

Students in kindergarten through high school, as well as adults of any age, are invited to send in their entries at any time before March 22nd. Entry forms will be available from February 1st to march 22nd at the front desk.
Winners and their families will be invited to our Poetry Award Ceremony on Friday, April 25th. In addition, winners will receive a special prize and a copy of Iridescent Inkwells V, which will feature all winning poetry from this year's Annual Poetry Contest.

Books To Movies



It’s time to sign-up for our Books To Movies. We will be reading “Deliverance” by James Dickey in March and watching the movie on April 14 @ 6:30 pm. “Deliverance” is a 1970 novel by James Dickey, his first. It was adapted into a 1972 film by director John Boorman. In 1998, the editors of the Modern Library selected Deliverance as #42 on their list of the 100 best 20th-Century novels. "A novel that will curl your toes...Dickey's canoe rides to the limits of dramatic tension."—New York Times Book Review.

Birdie's Big Girl Spa Day

Saturday, February 22nd @ 2:00 pm. 
Every year in February, we host a "girly" party for our young patrons (followed by one in March or April geared more toward boys), although both boys and girls are welcome to come.  This year we will be celebrating the release of Birdie's Big-Girl Hair by Sujean Rim. On Saturday, February 22nd, at 2:00, kids are invited to  "Birdie's Big-Girl Spa Day". We will be dressing up, listening to the story about Birdie choosing a new hairstyle during her first strip to the salon, and enjoying some crafts such as nail art and home-made lip gloss! We will have a few snacks and enjoy an hour of self-indulgence. We hope to see you there!
