Thursday, June 29th at 2:00 pm
Come prepared to get soaked, because we are going to have a wet and wild time! Spencer Fire Department will be joining us and bringing a truck for these water fights. Along with getting hosed down, we will be having water balloon/bucket relay races, "painting" with squirt guns, and much more! Activities will take place in the parking lot south of the library. If you bring your own squirt gun, please mark it with your name.

Thursday, June 22nd @ 3:30pm: Science Center of Iowa presents Building Blunders!

Sponsored by CMBA Architects
Join us as we explore what it means to be an engineer! Building can be hard, and things don't always turn out like we want them to. Instead of seeing mistakes as failure, engineers use these blunders to learn and build even better things! We are going to learn about some famous building blunders that topple, tilt, or twirl while experiencing the marvels of engineering

Orphan Trains In Iowa History

Retired Canadian Pacific Railway Conductor and historian, Dennis Wilson, will present The Orphan Train History. They have been called nurseries on wheels, mercy trains, and baby trains, but it was the name given by a New York Times reporter, Orphan Trains, that stuck. Join us for an informative talk on an underrepresented time in Iowa history.
